Van Gogh (1863 - 1890) is highly regarded as the greatest artists in history, creating some of the most famous works of art of all time - most notably Starry Night and Sunflowers. Van Gogh lived most of his life in financial difficulty and battling mental health issues, famously cutting off his own ear and painting some of his best work in a mental asylum in 1889.
